“We Are Laie” is a project that involves the whole community of Laie with Brigham Young University - Hawaii. The theme of this project is based on the quote given by President David O. McKay during the ground breaking ceremony of the university: “…the world needs men who cannot be bought or sold, men who will scorn to violate truth, genuine gold.”

 

Musicians and composers of original songs from the community of Laie have come to record their works in the school’s recording studio. Each had their story to tell of this beautiful place on the North Shore of Hawaii what makes Laie so special to them, and so on. Each musician is featured in a video segment with an interview and a music video. Our goal is to share the sounds, songs, and feelings these people have with all the world, making Laie a place you can always turn your heart and mind back to no matter where you are in the world.
